What Student Waqf Is

Three pillars.
One institution.

The Student Waqf integrates permanent funding, leadership formation, and student organizing into a single ecosystem.

Waqf

An Islamic Waqf

A perpetual endowment ensuring Muslim students are never left unprotected. Every dollar is invested for long-term stewardship, not short-term campaigns.

Institute

A Leadership Institute

Comprehensive formation that develops character before strategy. Students are trained in tarbiya, organizing, and principled leadership.

Movement

A Student Movement

A generation of principled leaders standing firm upon justice. Not a moment, but a sustained force across campuses and communities.

Our Broader Niyyah

Why This Is Needed

The Problem

Students facing retaliation lack resources and support.

Current repression deters our bravest leaders from continuing to lead and grow this movement.

The Vision

Students are transformed into effective, principled leaders.

This model ensures they are not only shielded from retaliation but carry this work into their communities post-graduation.

"There is no god but He: that is the witness of Allah, His angels, and those endowed with knowledge, standing firm upon justice."

Sūrat Āl ʿImrān · 3:18
Institutional Outcomes
I

Strengthen our communities

Building the institutional infrastructure Muslim communities have lacked.

II

Reconnect our youth to Islam

Tarbiya that grounds a generation in aqeedah, character, and prophetic conduct.

III

Cultivate the next generation of leadership

A lifelong pipeline producing principled Muslim leaders for decades to come.

Protecting seekers of knowledge who stand firmly upon justice is not only an obligation — it is an opportunity.

An Opportunity

An Opportunity to Bring Youth Back to Islam

This program is not only a defense mechanism — it is a dawah opportunity. By standing visibly with Muslim student leaders in their most vulnerable moments, we demonstrate that Islam does not abandon its people. We respond to the expressed need of Muslim students in this fight. This ummah has the opportunity to show its power and unity by building the next generation of leaders who are as strong in their Deen as they are in their organizing.

Recentering the Islamic Framework & Leadership

Recentering the Islamic Framework & Leadership

We have allowed Western organizing spaces to secularize the Palestine movement — turning it into a leftist, Marxist, and socialist problem instead of highlighting its religious significance and reminding us of our obligation to the custodianship of Masjid Al-Aqsa.

The Student Waqf recenters this work in Islam.

This work is not simply political. It is spiritual. It is communal. It is an obligation rooted in our responsibility toward justice and the protection of knowledge.
The Three Pillars

Three interdependent
pillars.

The Student Waqf transforms community support into long-term organizational power through three interconnected pillars.

PILLAR I · WAQF

Nation of Musa

Fundraising & Community Activation

A national event series that activates the ummah, identifies leaders, and channels every dollar into the perpetual Waqf.

PILLAR II · DEFENSE

Student Defense

Legal Protection & Immediate Relief

The front door of the Waqf. Legal counsel, educational continuity, and crisis response for students facing retaliation.

PILLAR III · DEVELOPMENT

Student Development

Tarbiya & Organizing Curriculum

A comprehensive leadership pipeline rooted in Islamic principles — turning defended students into lifelong organizers.

Pillar 1

Nation of Musa Initiative

Rooted in the Quranic story of Prophet Musa and a people navigating fear, oppression, and uncertainty, this faith-centered activation event explores what it means to place trust in Allah while also responding to injustice in our time.

Accessible to Muslims of all backgrounds and levels of civic engagement, the event also raises support and funds for the Student Waqf.

Nation of Musa — Structure

National Tour Model

Large-Scale Events

National tour of ticketed, faith-centered activations with hundreds of attendees per event. Contact data gathered at each stop.

Revenue to Waqf

All revenue raised flows directly back into the Student Waqf Fund. Built on the proven Quran Experience model: 9,700 participants and over $1.5M raised in 2 months.

Student Voice

Local student orgs given 10–15 minutes to share what it's like to organize on campus right now — highlighting repression most community members are unaware of.

Pillar 2

Student Defense: Protection.

This pillar provides an immediate “front door” for students across the country who are being retaliated against, suspended, or targeted for their political and campus organizing. We will soften the blow of all forms of repression inshaAllah. Radical change demands radical action.

Student Defense — What We Provide
01

Legal & Advocacy Support

Direct assistance for students facing disciplinary actions or legal hurdles due to their activism.

02

Trust Building

Acts as a community trust-builder by showing visible, tangible support for students in moments of crisis.

03

Fundraising Narrative

Provides a compelling story for donors who want to see their contributions make an immediate local emotional and practical impact.

04

Continuing Education

Charity collaboration ensures students kicked off scholarships or expelled for organizing always have a backup to continue seeking knowledge.
